Secure your nutritional labelling with Phytocontrol expertise

In an increasingly demanding market in terms of transparency and consumer information, compliance with the INCO regulation (for consumer INformation) is essential for the compliance of food products.

Thanks to its analytical expertise and methods under COFRAC accreditation, Phytocontrol supports its customers with precise analysis of nutritional values, to ensure reliable and value-enhancing labelling for food products.

Since 13 December 2016, European Regulation (EU) No. 1169/2011, known as “INCO”, has required a mandatory nutrition declaration for most prepacked foodstuffs sold in the European Union. This nutritional labelling aims to improve the transparency of information provided to consumers and help them make informed choices.

The nutrition declaration must be given per 100 g or 100 ml of product and must include the following mandatory information:

  • Energy value (in kJ and kcal)

  • Fat, of which:

    • saturated fatty acids

  • Carbohydrate, of which:

    • sugars

  • Protein

  • Salt

Optionally, manufacturers may supplement this declaration with other nutritional elements, such as:

  • Monounsaturated fatty acids

  • Polyunsaturated fatty acids

  • Polyols

  • Starch

  • Dietary fibre

  • Vitamins and minerals (subject to specific significant quantity conditions)

To ensure your labelling complies with current regulations and provides reliable information to your consumers, Phytocontrol offers a comprehensive range of nutritional value analyses. Our experts carry out these analyses using validated methods and under COFRAC accreditation, a guarantee of trust and quality.

We support you in managing your nutritional declarations, whether for new product development, reformulations or regular labelling checks.
