What is a PAM plant?
These are cultivated or wild plants used as raw materials for the pharmaceutical, food and cosmetic industries.
- Assay of the marker supporting the claim (food supplements and pharmaceutical products) and active ingredients
- Assay of substances to monitor (toxic substances to monitor)
- Fraud detection (adulteration, falsification, etc.)
Some examples of at-risk matrices:
- Angelica (Angelica archangelica) (Allergic reactions, photosensitising and drug interactions)
- Lemon verbena (Aloysia citrodora) (Skin irritation).
- Deadly nightshade (Atropa belladonna) (anticholinergic syndrome)
- Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) (toxicity to the nervous system)

Botanical identification
Botanical identification according to the pharmacopoeias
(Regulatory normative reference with genuine legal value).
We carry out a macroscopic analysis, study the organoleptic properties, perform a microscopic analysis and chemical fingerprinting (TLC or GC depending on the plant).
Quantitative analysis
Quantitative analysis of active substances / substances to monitor according to the pharmacopoeias, AFNOR methods and our internal methods or your supplier methods.
Physico-chemical analysis
Physico-chemical analysis
Water content (loss on drying or azeotropic distillation), essential oil content, total ash, acid-insoluble ash.
Microbiology
Microbiology according to the European Pharmacopoeia (chapters 2.6.12; 5.1.4 and 5.1.8).
