Objectives
Maintain technical knowledge on the quality assessment of Camargue rice (methods and tools).
By the end of the training course, the trainee will be able to check, or have checked, the compliance of the various rice batches with the Camargue Rice PGI specifications and instructions, as regards physical analysis.

Programme
Course structure (approximately 7 hours, adaptable according to audience):
- Quick recap: cultivation, processing, rice regulations
- In-depth study of the Camargue Rice PGI specifications
- Study of the equipment required to carry out physical analyses (ISO moisture, grids, sieves…)
- Performing physical analyses within the framework of the Camargue Rice PGI (paddy, brown, milled and parboiled rice)
- Assessment of compliance of Camargue rice batches
- Sampling techniques
- Focus on specific points
- Possible visit to rice fields (during growing season), if of interest
