Phytocontrol, partner of the Saint Charles Quality Approach
The Phytocontrol Laboratory renews its partnership with Saint Charles on the quality approach.
As part of the 5th three-year renewal of the “Saint-Charles Quality Approach” Agreement between the National Union of Fruit and Vegetable Importers/Exporters (SNIFL) and the Directorate General for Competition Policy, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control (DGCCRF), which took place on 17 October, Phytocontrol took part in this renewal.
Ms Beaumeunier Virginie (Director General of the DGCCRF) and Mr Ginard Denis (President of SNIFL) signed this agreement for a new three-year period.
The Saint Charles quality approach was created in 2000 by Saint-Charles International and brings together 63 member companies. Its aim is to guarantee to its customers and consumers the quality of fruit and vegetable products, based on regularly monitored and analysed characteristics. The approach operates on eight core principles: self-inspection validated by the DGCCRF, a reference HACCP method, mandatory training, a clearly identified logo, daily analyses and controls (two analytical laboratories under agreement with SNIFL, including Phytocontrol), additional ongoing training, the recruitment of a dedicated quality coordinator, and a Quality Committee.
For this second renewal, Phytocontrol continues its commitments to SNIFL. The Laboratory is QS-listed for pesticide analysis in foodstuffs. This German standard is a guarantee of quality for food safety. This institutional recognition allows Phytocontrol to meet the analytical needs of the Saint Charles Quality Approach. SNIFL can thus centralise all information related to the food safety quality of fruit and vegetables passing through the site.
