Phytocontrol expands its analytical offering for cosmetic products!

Certain cosmetic ingredients, particularly fragrances and perfuming compounds, can cause skin reactions, even in small quantities.

People with sensitive skin must therefore be alerted to the presence of such compounds through product labelling. Allergens must be listed on the packaging if their concentration exceeds 0.01% for rinse-off products and 0.001% for leave-on products.

Phytocontrol expands its analytical offering

Building on its expertise in cosmetic products, Phytocontrol has developed and adapted its cosmetic allergen analysis method to meet the upcoming amendment to Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009. The laboratory offers assay of 57 allergenic substances for various cosmetics and raw materials, using the IFRA method. All manufacturers will need to relabel their packaging in line with the new list, making this analysis essential.
