Opening of the new local laboratory in Barcelona
The Phytocontrol Group announces the opening of its new local laboratory in Barcelona (Cabrera de Mar).
A new facility that reflects the Group’s determination to strengthen its presence in Spain, with the aim of consolidating its growth in the years ahead.
This high-capacity laboratory enables the Phytocontrol Group to broaden the range of analyses offered under accreditation and to develop the biotechnology department dedicated to allergen control in the food sector. This expansion will therefore significantly strengthen the Group’s analytical capacity.
The laboratory has a state-of-the-art analytical equipment fleet for water analysis in view of the new drinking water quality regulations. The expertise, proximity, responsiveness and reliability of the analyses enable Phytocontrol Analytics España to guarantee the safety of your water.

In addition to this new facility in Barcelona, Phytocontrol recently opened a laboratory located within Linneo Health’s premises in Balsapintada, Spain, for the control of pesticide parameters in medical cannabis. This partnership between the two entities helps facilitate compliance with regulatory requirements for the export of medical cannabis, with tests carried out in the production area itself.
“This new expansion reinforces our commitment to the Spanish market, which, after France, is the second most important market for the Group. Furthermore, the new laboratory is strategically located in Cabrera de Mar (Barcelona), as it is situated in one of the most important areas for the food industry and close to Nîmes, where the company’s headquarters are located. The new laboratory will allow us to increase our workforce, and we will have up to 25 employees who will specialise in the domestic market”, says Mikaël Bresson, Founding President of the Phytocontrol Group.
