New accreditations for radioactivity analysis
We are proud to announce our new accreditations for radioactivity analysis in food, fresh water and wastewater, a guarantee of confidence and quality.

Radioactivity in food and water is a major concern, given the potential risks to human health and the environment. Past nuclear accidents, radioactive waste and nuclear testing have left traces of radionuclides in our environment.
Radioactivity in food
The Phytocontrol laboratory is accredited to determine the activity of γ-emitting radionuclides: Iodine 131, Cesium 134 and Cesium 137, as well as Am 241, Pb 210, Be 7, K 40, Co 58, Co 60, Ag 110, Eu 152, Th 232, Ra 226, Ba 133, and U 238, by gamma spectrometry, on the edible fractions of solid and liquid food products.
Radioactivity in water
Cofrac accreditation is awarded for the determination of gamma-emitting radionuclide activity (Cs134, Cs137, I131, Am241, Pb210, Be7, K40, Co58, Co60, Ag110, Eu152, Th232, Ra226, Ba133, and U238), by gamma spectrometry, on freshwater and wastewater matrices.
A new fast, high-capacity proportional counting analysis technique for the determination of the global alpha and global beta index has also been accredited to complete our radioactivity offering on freshwater and wastewater samples.
Our new accreditations for the analysis of radioactivity in foodstuffs and water are the fruit of many years’ work, innovation and commitment to food safety, contributing to a safer future for all.
