Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019\/533 of 28 March 2019 concerning a coordinated multiannual control programme of the Union for 2020, 2021 and 2022 to ensure compliance with maximum residue levels of pesticides and to assess the consumer exposure to pesticide residues in and on food of plant and animal origin was published on 29 March 2019.
\nThis regulation will enter into force on 1 January 2020.<\/p>\n
Thirty to forty foodstuffs make up the main components of the diet in the Union. As pesticide use varies considerably over a three-year period, pesticides must be monitored in these foodstuffs over a series of three-year cycles so that consumer exposure and the application of EU legislation can be assessed.<\/p>\n
The control programme will cover 36 different foodstuffs for a total of 683 samples.<\/p>\n
