{"id":8327,"date":"2019-02-22T12:32:15","date_gmt":"2019-02-22T11:32:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.phytocontrol.com\/?p=8327"},"modified":"2026-08-28T01:48:08","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T23:48:08","slug":"dgccrf-2017-control-plan-ab-products","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/en\/regulatory-watch\/dgccrf-2017-control-plan-ab-products\/","title":{"rendered":"DGCCRF 2017 control plan for organic products"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>The DGCCRF recently published its annual 2017 control plan for products from organic farming.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>This control plan aims to verify compliance with Regulation No 834\/2007 on organic production and the labelling of organic products.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em> <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Monitoring covered:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; the obligations of industry operators regarding certification (under Regulation (EC) No 834\/2007, any operator placing organic products on the market must notify their activity to Agence Bio and submit their company to the control system provided for by the regulation)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; organic raw materials imported for animal feed<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; storage sites<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; importers placing organic products on the market via websites<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em> <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>1,624 establishments were inspected, with a non-compliance rate of 28%, resulting in the following actions:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; 449 warnings<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; 169 formal notices<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; 60 official reports<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em> <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Among the main non-compliances observed:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; certification rules not complied with<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; production rules not complied with<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; labelling issues<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; misleading commercial practices<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em> <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Most warnings related to minor non-compliances and did not call into question the organic status of the products.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em> <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Formal notices were issued to operators requiring them to notify their activity to Agence Bio and become certified by an approved body.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Other operators also had to correct non-compliant labelling by removing the \u201cBio\u201d prefix or organic claims.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em> <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Official reports were issued to specialist organic retail establishments that sold products made on-site without notification or certification. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Establishments were also sanctioned for selling products presented as organic when they were not, for wholesalers marketing products without certification, and for operators who continued to promote their products with organic claims and certification references despite having had their certification suspended or withdrawn.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em> <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Please note that our laboratory is accredited under flexible scope for pesticide residue testing in products of plant and animal origin and in animal feed.
