Phytocontrol is able to determine a wide list of 480 pesticide residues, using a unique, ultra-high-performance LC Q-TOF method, combined with a multi-residue GC-MS\/MS screen.<\/b><\/p>\n\n

Pesticides<\/b> are used in agricultural crops to improve harvest yields by controlling pests. The first known use dates back to ancient Greece, with the use of sulphur as an insecticide.<\/p>\n\n

Pesticides can be classified into different families: – Natural origin: extracted from plants, fungi, bacteria – Mineral origin: derivatives of sulphur, tin, etc. – Chemical origin: synthetic products from plant protection product laboratories. They are used according to their properties: fungicides, insecticides, herbicides, etc.<\/p>\n\n

Due to their nature, essential oils<\/b> concentrate certain natural or chemical compounds, including pesticide residues. As highly interfered matrices, they present well-known analytical challenges in terms of detection and quantification.<\/p>\n\n
