{"id":6211,"date":"2018-01-18T15:05:01","date_gmt":"2018-01-18T14:05:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.phytocontrol.com\/?p=6211"},"modified":"2026-08-28T02:12:04","modified_gmt":"2026-08-28T00:12:04","slug":"new-eu-regulations-2018-70-and-2018-73-changes-to-mrls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/en\/regulatory-watch\/new-eu-regulations-2018-70-and-2018-73-changes-to-mrls\/","title":{"rendered":"New Regulations (EU) 2018\/70 and 2018\/73: MRL changes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[hover_box image=&#8221;\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/reglementation_18012018.jpg&#8221; image_hover=&#8221;\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/actu_publication-rasff-2016_02.jpg&#8221; link=&#8221;&#8221; target=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Two new European regulations have just been published in the Official Journal of the European Union:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/FR\/TXT\/PDF\/?uri=CELEX:32018R0070&amp;rid=1\"><strong>Regulation (EU) 2018\/70<\/strong><\/a> of the Commission of 16 January 2018 amending Annexes II, III and IV to Regulation (EC) No 396\/2005 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards maximum residue levels for <strong>ametoctradin, chlorpyrifos-methyl, cyproconazole, difenoconazole, fluazinam, flutriafol, prohexadione and sodium chloride<\/strong> in or on certain products.<br \/>\n<strong>Among the changes introduced by this regulation:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe MRL for ametoctradin on herbs increases from 0.01mg\/kg to 20mg\/kg.<br \/>\nThe MRLs for chlorpyrifos-methyl on pomegranate and persimmon increase from 0.05 to 0.3 and from 0.05 to 0.5mg\/kg respectively.<br \/>\nThe MRL for cyproconazole on borage seeds increases from 0.05 to 0.4mg\/kg.<br \/>\nThe MRLs for difenoconazole on Strawberries, Cabbages, Lettuce, Escarole, Cress, Young shoots, Herbs, Leeks, Barley, Liquorice, Ginger and Turmeric have been revised upwards.<br \/>\nThe MRLs for fluazinam on garlic, onion and shallot increase from 0.01 to 0.06mg\/kg.<br \/>\nThe MRL for flutriafol on Hops increases from 0.05 to 20mg\/kg.<br \/>\nThe MRL for prohexadione on Plum increases from 0.01 to 0.05mg\/kg.<br \/>\nSodium chloride has been added to Annex IV of the regulation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This text was published on 17\/01\/18 and will enter into force on the 20th day following its publication.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/FR\/TXT\/PDF\/?uri=CELEX:32018R0073&amp;rid=1\"><strong>Regulation (EU) 2018\/73<\/strong><\/a> of the Commission of 16 January 2018 amending Annexes II and III to Regulation (EC) No 396\/2005 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards maximum residue levels for <strong>mercury compounds<\/strong> in or on certain products.<br \/>\nSince Directive 79\/117\/EEC banned the placing on the market and use of plant protection products containing mercury, all MRLs had been set at the limit of detection under Regulation (EU) 149\/2008.<br \/>\nMRLs for mercury compounds had never been revised since the European harmonisation of MRLs.<br \/>\nThe distinctive feature of this new regulation is that, for the first time, it takes into account the presence of mercury attributable to environmental contamination.<br \/>\n<strong>Among the changes introduced by this regulation:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe MRL on tree nuts increases from 0.01 to 0.02mg\/kg.<br \/>\nThe MRL on herbs increases from 0.01 to 0.03mg\/kg.<br \/>\nThe MRL on cultivated mushrooms increases from 0.01 to 0.05mg\/kg.<br \/>\nThe MRLs on wild mushrooms increase from 0.01 to 0.5mg\/kg, except for porcini mushrooms, for which it has been set at 0.9mg\/kg.<br \/>\nThe MRLs on Ginger, Turmeric and Mace increase from 0.02 to 0.05mg\/kg.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This text was published on 18\/01\/18 and will enter into force on the 20th day following its publication.<\/p>\n<p>For any technical, pricing or regulatory information, please contact us.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[hover_box image=&#8221;\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/reglementation_18012018.jpg&#8221; image_hover=&#8221;\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/actu_publication-rasff-2016_02.jpg&#8221; link=&#8221;&#8221; target=&#8221;&#8221;] &nbsp; Two new European regulations have just been published in&hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":5519,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[181],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-6211","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-regulatory-watch"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v28.4 (Yoast SEO v28.5) -
