Under Regulation 1169\/2011, substances or products causing allergies or intolerances listed in Annex II must be labelled.
\nThese substances include crustaceans, eggs, fish, peanuts, soybeans, milk, celery, mustard, sesame seeds, lupin, molluscs and certain tree nuts.
\nIn its opinion 24-2017, the Scientific Committee of the AFSCA<\/strong> proposed using the lower limit of the 95% confidence interval of the ED05 (dose triggering an allergic reaction in 5% of a sensitive population) as a reference dose for the risk assessment related to the ingestion of allergenic foods.
\nThe following reference doses (expressed in mg of allergenic food protein) are proposed by the Scientific Committee for risk assessment:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

At present, the available scientific literature is insufficient to set a reference dose for crustaceans other than shrimp, molluscs, fish and celery.
\nThe reference doses proposed in this opinion do not apply to allergens that have been added as ingredients. In this case, regulations require their labelling.
\nThese doses must not be used as thresholds to conclude that a product is “free from” a specific allergen.<\/p>\n

Please note that your Phytocontrol laboratory is able to test for proteins<\/strong> from the following allergenic foods: Milk, Egg, Soybean, Cereals containing Gluten and Crustaceans.
