\"Recommendations<\/p>\n

On 27 March 2013, the European Commission published recommendation 2013\/165\/EU<\/strong> concerning the presence of T2 and HT-2 toxins in cereals and cereal products.
\nThe introduction of maximum levels had already been considered in 2006 through EU regulation 1881\/2006, but they had not been set due to insufficient data.
\nThese European recommendations call for the collection of more data on the presence of these two toxins throughout the product processing chain, in order to identify the measures to be taken to avoid or reduce their presence in cereals and cereal products.
\nIndicative values have therefore been introduced, above which in-depth investigations should be carried out. These indicative values were determined based on data available in the EFSA database.<\/p>\n

Evaluation of the various data obtained through these recommendations will take place in 2015.<\/p>\n

PHYTOCONTROL is pleased to announce that its R&D department has recently developed an innovative method for determining T2 and HT2 toxin levels in cereals and their derived products by UFLC\/MS\/MS, with LOQs as low as 15\u00b5g\/kg for the sum of T2 and HT2 toxins, thus meeting the indicative values set for infant food<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
