On 24 April 2015, the European Commission authorised seventeen GMOs for human and animal food use, as well as two genetically modified carnations; these authorisations do not permit cultivation on European soil.<\/p>\n

The authorisations are valid for ten years, and any product derived from these GMOs will be subject to the Union’s labelling and traceability rules.<\/p>\n
