PHYTOCONTROL is pleased to announce that, in addition to the analyses already performed at the laboratory, the R&D department has recently developed an innovative analytical method for testing an exhaustive list of 26 phthalates and other plasticisers.<\/p>\n

Regulation (EU) 10\/2011 on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food sets restrictions and specifications for substances used in the manufacture of plastic layers and plastic articles.
\nAnnex I of the regulation lists the monomers, other starting substances, macromolecules obtained from microbial fermentation, additives and polymer production aids authorised by the European Union.
\nFor certain substances, specific migration limits are set. They are expressed in mg\/kg of foodstuff.
\nThe specific migration limit corresponds to the maximum quantity of a substance permitted to migrate into food, the aim being to ensure that the material intended to come into contact with food does not pose a health risk.
\nThe method developed by GC\/MS\/MS allows the testing of 26 phthalates and other plasticisers in alcoholic beverages, milk, fruit and vegetable juices and soft drinks, with UNPRECEDENTED limits of quantification and within the same responsive turnaround time of 3 to 5 working days.<\/p>\n
