{"id":545194,"date":"2026-08-27T04:59:53","date_gmt":"2026-08-27T02:59:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/uncategorized\/ban-on-dimethoate-on-fresh-cherries\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T04:59:53","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T02:59:53","slug":"ban-on-dimethoate-on-fresh-cherries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/en\/regulatory-watch\/ban-on-dimethoate-on-fresh-cherries\/","title":{"rendered":"Ban on Dimethoate on fresh cherries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/phytocontrol.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/photo-actu-dim\u00e9thoate-cerise.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3608\" src=\"http:\/\/phytocontrol.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/photo-actu-dim\u00e9thoate-cerise.jpg\" alt=\"photo actu dim\u00e9thoate cerise\" width=\"400\" height=\"120\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Order of 24 April 2017 suspending the introduction, import and placing on the market in France of fresh cherries from member states or third countries where the use of plant protection products containing the active substance dimethoate is authorised for cherry tree treatment was published on 27 April 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The text concerns importers, introducers and first placers on the French market of fresh cherries intended for human consumption.<\/p>\n<p>On 30 March 2017, France requested the European Commission to take emergency measures to ban the use of dimethoate on cherry trees and suspend the placing on the European market of fresh cherries from cherry trees treated with dimethoate, which may pose a serious risk to human health.<br \/>\nSince no measures have been taken by the European Commission, France is reinstating the ban established last year in the Order of 21 April 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, according to Article 1 of the Order of 24 April 2017:<br \/>\n<em>&#8220;The introduction, import and placing on the market in France of fresh cherries intended for consumption from member states of the European Union or third countries where the use of plant protection products containing the active substance dimethoate is authorised for cherry tree treatment is suspended until 31 December 2017.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This order came into force on 28 April 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The full order can be found below:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.legifrance.gouv.fr\/affichTexte.do;jsessionid=3D56F0072E32C6617C7F1DE8A70FD593.tpdila16v_1?cidTexte=JORFTEXT000034493439&amp;dateTexte=&amp;oldAction=rechJO&amp;categorieLien=id&amp;idJO=JORFCONT000034491769\">Order of 24 April 2017<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;
