It sets maximum levels of PAs in dried plants (tea, herbal infusions, herbs), food supplements (based on plants and pollen) and cumin seeds.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through the application of good agricultural practices and appropriate harvesting methods, it is possible to minimise and prevent the presence of PAs in foodstuffs in order to ensure a high level of protection of human health.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The maximum levels set are as follows:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Herbal infusions: between 200 and 400 \u00b5g\/kg depending on the type of infusion<\/li><li>Teas and flavoured teas: 150 \u00b5g\/kg.<\/li><li>Teas, flavoured teas and herbal infusions intended for infants and young children: 1 \u00b5g\/kg for liquid products, 75 \u00b5g\/kg for dried products.<\/li><li>Plant-based food supplements: 400 \u00b5g\/kg<\/li><li>Pollen-based food supplements, pollen and pollen products: 500 \u00b5g\/kg<\/li><li>Dried herbs, except those listed below: 400 \u00b5g\/kg<\/li><li>Dried borage, lovage, marjoram and oregano (and mixtures containing these herbs): 1,000 \u00b5g\/kg<\/li><li>Fresh borage leaves: 750 \u00b5g\/kg<\/li><li>Cumin seeds: 400 \u00b5g\/kg<\/li><\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Given that foodstuffs covered by this regulation have a shelf life of up to three years, a fairly long transition period has been provided for so that foodstuffs legally placed on the market before the date of application of this regulation may remain on the market for a sufficient length of time.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These maximum levels are therefore applicable from <strong><u>1 July 2022<\/u><\/strong>, but the foodstuffs listed in the annex to the regulation, if placed on the market before that date, may remain on the market until 31 December 2023.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your Phytocontrol laboratory is the <strong>1st laboratory to be COFRAC accredited<\/strong> for this analysis on these matrices.
