{"id":544626,"date":"2026-08-27T02:25:37","date_gmt":"2026-08-27T00:25:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/uncategorized\/non-renewal-of-approval-for-active-substances\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T02:25:37","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T00:25:37","slug":"non-renewal-of-approval-for-active-substances","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/en\/regulatory-watch\/non-renewal-of-approval-for-active-substances\/","title":{"rendered":"Non-renewal of approval for active substances."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Regulation (EC) No. 1107\/2009 establishes the rules governing the authorisation of plant protection products in their commercial form, as well as their placing on the market, use and control within the European Community.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Implementing Regulation (EU) No. 540\/2011 implements Regulation (EC) No. 1107\/2009 with regard to the list of approved active substances.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The regulations listed below have amended Implementing Regulation No. 540\/2011 by removing certain active substances from the annex of approved substances.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These active substances are now banned for use at European level; however, additional periods (grace periods) have been granted for the distribution and use of existing stocks of plant protection solutions containing them.<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/FR\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX%3A32020R2087&amp;qid=1622037267936\">Implementing Regulation No. 2020\/2087<\/a>: Non-renewal of the approval of <strong>mancozeb.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">EFSA has classified mancozeb as a category 1B reproductive toxicant and as an endocrine disruptor.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Marketing authorisations containing mancozeb must be withdrawn by <strong>4 July 2021<\/strong> at the latest. Grace periods are granted until <strong>4 January 2022<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/FR\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX%3A32021R0795&amp;qid=1622035378186\">Implementing Regulation No. 2021\/795<\/a>: Non-renewal of the approval of <strong>\u03b1-cypermethrin<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This molecule was classified as a substance considered for substitution.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Confirmatory information regarding the toxicological profile of certain metabolites was required, but no data was submitted to the European Commission, the Member States or EFSA, and as a result the approval was withdrawn.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Marketing authorisations containing \u03b1-cypermethrin must be withdrawn by <strong>7 December 2021<\/strong> at the latest. Grace periods are granted until <strong>7 December 2022<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/FR\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX%3A32021R0726&amp;qid=1622037233398\">Implementing Regulation No. 2021\/726<\/a>: <strong>Flutriafol<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The approval period for this substance had been extended from 31 May 2021 to 31 May 2024 by Implementing Regulation No. 2018\/1266, and then to 31 August 2024 by Implementing Regulation No. 2020\/2007.
