{"id":544600,"date":"2026-08-27T02:05:39","date_gmt":"2026-08-27T00:05:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/uncategorized\/publication-of-regulations-2021-1098-and-2021-1110-amendments-to-mrls\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T02:05:39","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T00:05:39","slug":"publication-of-regulations-2021-1098-and-2021-1110-amendments-to-mrls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/en\/regulatory-watch\/publication-of-regulations-2021-1098-and-2021-1110-amendments-to-mrls\/","title":{"rendered":"Publication of Regulations 2021\/1098 and 2021\/1110 \u2013 Amendments to MRLs"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two new texts amend the MRLs set out in Regulation (EC) No 396\/2005:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/FR\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX%3A32021R1098&amp;qid=1626341639133\"><strong>Regulation (EU) No 2021\/1098<\/strong><\/a> amends the residue limits for the following substances in foodstuffs: 24-epibrassinolide, Allium cepa L. bulb extract, cyflumetofen, fludioxonil, fluroxypyr, sodium 5-nitroguaiacolate, sodium o-nitrophenolate and sodium p-nitrophenolate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of procedures to authorise the use of plant protection products containing these substances, requests to amend existing MRLs were submitted. The MRLs for these residues have been revised upwards.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These new MRLs will apply from <strong><u>26\/07\/2021<\/u><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/FR\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX%3A32021R1110&amp;qid=1626341657144\"><strong>Regulation (EU) No 2021\/1110<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/FR\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX%3A32021R1110R%2801%29&amp;qid=1634307641555\">its correction<\/a> amend the residue limits for the following substances in foodstuffs: ametoctradin, bixafen, fenazaquin, spinetoram, tefluthrin and thiencarbazone-methyl.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For <strong>ametoctradin<\/strong>, the MRLs have been lowered for sweet peppers and hops.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For <strong>bixafen<\/strong>, the MRLs have been lowered for linseed, poppy seed, mustard seed, barley and oats.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For <strong>fenazaquin<\/strong>, the MRLs have been lowered for citrus fruit, stone fruit, grapes, strawberries, bananas, tomatoes, sweet peppers, aubergines, cucumbers, courgettes, melons, watermelons, beans and tea.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For <strong>spinetoram<\/strong>, the MRLs have been lowered for citrus fruit, tree nuts, pome fruit, grapes, plums, fruit with edible peel (except table olives) and inedible peel, root and tuber vegetables, bulb vegetables (except spring onions), fruiting vegetables, brassicas, lettuce and salad plants, spinach, vine leaves, watercress, witloof chicory, legume vegetables, stem vegetables, fungi, algae, dried pulses, oilseeds, oleaginous fruit (except olives for oil, for which the MRLs have been revised upwards), herbal infusions from leaves, sugar plants and certain products of animal origin.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For <strong>tefluthrin<\/strong>, the MRLs have been lowered for all fruits, root and tuber vegetables, fruiting vegetables, brassicas, lettuce, salad plants, spinach, witloof chicory, herbs, legume vegetables, stem vegetables, fungi, algae, dried pulses, oilseeds and oleaginous fruit, cereals, herbal infusions from roots, spices from roots and certain products of animal origin. They have been increased for shallots, corn salad, cress, rocket, young leafy vegetables and sugar beet.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Article 2 of this regulation specifies that the previous MRLs will continue to apply to products obtained in the Union or imported into the Union before 27 January 2022.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The regulation will apply from <strong><u>27\/01\/2022<\/u><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can find all the changes to these MRLs in the <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/food\/plant\/pesticides\/eu-pesticides-database\/mrls\/index.cfm?event=search.pr&amp;v=1&amp;langFromHeader=FR&amp;token=E4EC230F64AFDC65A630221D162EFCDEC6C3A9D1\">EU pesticides database<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please note that your Phytocontrol laboratory offers pesticide residue analysis under COFRAC accreditation.
