{"id":544568,"date":"2026-08-27T02:04:58","date_gmt":"2026-08-27T00:04:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/uncategorized\/regulations-2021-1841-and-2021-1842-mrl-amendments\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T02:04:58","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T00:04:58","slug":"regulations-2021-1841-and-2021-1842-mrl-amendments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/en\/regulatory-watch\/regulations-2021-1841-and-2021-1842-mrl-amendments\/","title":{"rendered":"Regulations 2021\/1841 and 2021\/1842: MRL amendments"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two new EU regulations have been published in the OJEU:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/FR\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX%3A32021R1841&amp;qid=1636551601057\">Regulation (EU) <strong>2021\/1841<\/strong><\/a> amends the MRLs applicable to residues of <strong>6-benzyladenine<\/strong> and <strong>aminopyralid<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No MRL had been set for 6-benzyladenine, so the default MRL of 0.01 mg\/kg applied. This regulation sets the MRLs for 6-benzyladenine at the limit of determination.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It also amends the residue definition for aminopyralid and increases the MRLs for tree nuts, table olives, avocados, herbs, dried pulses, oilseeds, buckwheat and other pseudocereals, rice, tea, coffee, herbal infusions, carob and spices.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new residue definition is as follows: Aminopyralid (sum of aminopyralid, its salts and its conjugates, expressed as aminopyralid)<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The regulation applies from <strong>10\/05\/22<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/FR\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX%3A32021R1842&amp;qid=1636552043863\">Regulation (EU) <strong>2021\/1842<\/strong><\/a> amends the MRLs applicable to residues of <strong>flupyradifurone<\/strong> and <strong>difluoroacetic acid<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MRLs for flupyradifurone have been <strong>raised<\/strong> for citrus fruit, tree nuts, grapes, blueberries, table olives, root and tuber vegetables, aubergines, okra, sweetcorn, brassicas (except Chinese cabbage), leafy vegetables and herbs (except vine leaves), pulses, dried pulses, peanuts\/groundnuts, rapeseed, soya beans, mustard and cotton seeds, oil olives, barley, maize, sorghum, wheat and coffee beans.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MRLs have been <strong>lowered<\/strong> for vine leaves (0.03 to 0.01 mg\/kg).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MRLs for difluoroacetic acid have been <strong>raised<\/strong> in citrus fruits, tree nuts, strawberries, blueberries, table olives, root and tuber vegetables, bulb vegetables, fruiting vegetables (except watermelons), brassicas (except Chinese cabbage), leafy vegetables and fresh herbs (except vine leaves), pulses, stem vegetables, dried pulses, peanuts, rapeseed, soya beans, mustard and cotton seeds, oil olives, barley, wheat and coffee beans.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MRLs have been <strong>lowered<\/strong> for maize (0.3 to 0.1 mg\/kg), cocoa beans (0.1 to 0.06 mg\/kg) and pig liver (0.1 to 0.09 mg\/kg).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The regulation applies from <strong>10\/11\/21<\/strong> and from <strong>10\/05\/22<\/strong> for the MRLs of flupyradifurone in vine leaves and difluoroacetic acid in maize, cocoa beans and pig liver.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can find all changes to these MRLs in the <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/food\/plant\/pesticides\/eu-pesticides-database\/mrls\/index.cfm?event=search.pr&amp;v=1&amp;langFromHeader=FR&amp;token=E4EC230F64AFDC65A630221D162EFCDEC6C3A9D1\">EU pesticides database<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your Phytocontrol laboratory offers pesticide residue analysis under COFRAC accreditation.
