The former Directive 98\/83\/EC will be finally repealed on 13 January 2023.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The text provides for the establishment of a watch list to address growing public concern about the presence of emerging compounds such as endocrine disruptors, pharmaceuticals and microplastics.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beta-oestradiol and nonylphenol are included on the first watch list because of their endocrine-disrupting properties and the risk they pose to human health. The first watch list had to be established by 12 January 2022 at the latest and provides an indicative value for each of the substances and, where relevant, a possible analytical method.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On 19 January, the European Commission adopted a decision adding beta-oestradiol and nonylphenol to the watch list described in Directive 2020\/2184.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The two indicative values below have been set:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Beta-oestradiol: 1ng\/L<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nonylphenol: 300ng\/L<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Standard EN ISO 18857-2 is identified as a possible analytical method.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These requirements must be transposed by member states into national law by 12 January 2023 at the latest.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This watch list will evolve over time.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please note that Phytocontrol holds the national approval from the Ministry of Health to carry out sampling and analyses for the sanitary control of water.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You will find details of our accreditations in our COFRAC technical appendix No. 1-6066.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Need technical, regulatory or pricing information?
