{"id":544542,"date":"2026-08-27T02:04:23","date_gmt":"2026-08-27T00:04:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/uncategorized\/change-to-mrls-for-several-active-substances-in-the-eu-2\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T02:04:24","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T00:04:24","slug":"change-to-mrls-for-several-active-substances-in-the-eu-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/en\/regulatory-watch\/change-to-mrls-for-several-active-substances-in-the-eu-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Change to MRLs for several active substances in the EU"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Three new EU regulations have just been published in the OJEU.<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/FR\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX%3A32022R0078&amp;qid=1642676688756\"><strong>Regulation 2022\/78<\/strong><\/a> amends the MRLs of the following residues: <strong>hexythiazox and methyl isothiocyanate (dazomet and metam).<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hexythiazox:<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MRLs have been increased in pears, apples, cherries, plums, strawberries, tea and honey.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MRLs have been decreased in citrus fruit, tree nuts, pome fruit (except pears and apples), stone fruit (except cherries and plums), berries and small fruit (except grapes and strawberries), miscellaneous fruit (except dates), all vegetables, dried legumes, oilseeds and oleaginous fruit (except soybeans), cereals and hops.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Methyl isothiocyanate (metam and dazomet):<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MRLs have been increased in strawberries, onions, tomatoes, aubergines, cucurbits with edible peel, and the category teas, coffee, herbal infusions, cocoa and carob.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MRLs have been decreased in fruit (except strawberries), potatoes, tropical root and tuber vegetables (cassava roots, sweet potatoes, yams, etc.), bulb vegetables (except onions), sweetcorn, brassicas (except leafy cabbages), vine leaves, watercress, chicory\/endive, fresh legume vegetables, stem vegetables, mushrooms and algae, dried legumes, oilseeds and oleaginous fruit, cereals and sugar plants.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The regulation applies from <strong>9 August 2022<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Article 2 of this regulation specifies that the previous MRLs continue to apply to products obtained in the Union or imported into the Union before 9 August 2022.<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/FR\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX%3A32022R0085&amp;qid=1643383947095\">EU Regulation No. 2022\/85<\/a> amends the MRLs of <strong>flonicamid<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MRLs have been increased for strawberries, blackberries and &#8220;other berries and small fruit&#8221;, &#8220;other root and tropical vegetables&#8221;, lettuces and salad plants, and dried legumes.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These MRLs apply from <strong>10 February 2022<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/FR\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX%3A32022R0093&amp;qid=1643384050255\">EU Regulation No. 2022\/93<\/a> amends the MRLs of the following residues: <strong>acrinathrin, fluvalinate, folpet, fosetyl, isofetamid, spinetoram and spirotetramat.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Acrinathrin: MRLs have been increased for peaches and peppers.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fluvalinate: MRLs have been increased for tomatoes.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Folpet: MRLs have been increased for barley, oats and rye.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fosetyl-Al: MRLs have been increased for lemons, limes, mandarins and for herbal infusions of leaves and other aerial parts.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Isofetamid: MRLs have been increased for brambleberries.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Spinetoram: MRLs have been increased for purslane.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Spirotetramat: MRLs have been increased for spring onions, leeks and honey.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These MRLs apply from <strong>14 February 2022<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can find all these MRL changes in the <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/food\/plant\/pesticides\/eu-pesticides-database\/mrls\/index.cfm?event=search.pr&amp;v=1&amp;langFromHeader=FR&amp;token=E4EC230F64AFDC65A630221D162EFCDEC6C3A9D1\">European pesticides database<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please note that your Phytocontrol laboratory offers pesticide residue analysis under COFRAC accreditation;
