{"id":544496,"date":"2026-08-27T01:25:10","date_gmt":"2026-08-26T23:25:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/uncategorized\/temporary-recipe-changes-and-labelling-derogations-linked-to-the-crisis-in-ukraine\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T01:25:10","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T23:25:10","slug":"temporary-recipe-changes-and-labelling-derogations-linked-to-the-crisis-in-ukraine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/en\/regulatory-watch\/temporary-recipe-changes-and-labelling-derogations-linked-to-the-crisis-in-ukraine\/","title":{"rendered":"Temporary recipe changes and labelling derogations linked to the crisis in Ukraine"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Faced with supply problems in the food industry for the production of certain foodstuffs, caused by the Ukrainian crisis, the Ministry of the Economy announced the possibility of <strong>substituting sunflower oil<\/strong> with other ingredients <strong>without a labelling requirement<\/strong>, in order to allow production to continue, provided this does not affect consumer safety.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each operator concerned is <strong>required to submit a <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.demarches-simplifiees.fr\/commencer\/derogconso\"><strong>derogation request<\/strong><\/a><strong> to its relevant DDPP<\/strong> while awaiting the modification of the labelling of its products.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Approved derogations are granted for a <strong>maximum period of 6 months from the date of the request<\/strong>. They will be reviewed after 3 months.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The DGCCRF draws attention to the following points:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Products reformulated using an ingredient that could pose a risk to the consumer, such as <strong>allergens<\/strong> (soy lecithin, peanut oil, etc.), must be the subject of <strong>direct information on their labelling<\/strong>, in a visible and legible manner. To date, cases of allergen addition only concern <strong>soy<\/strong> and <strong>peanut<\/strong>, but the addition of other allergens cannot be excluded.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Products to which <strong>a GMO-derived ingredient<\/strong> has been added, or which bear one of the following environmental claims that would no longer be accurate due to the recipe change: &#8220;palm oil free&#8221;, &#8220;GMO free&#8221;, &#8220;fed without GMOs&#8221;, &#8220;from organic farming&#8221;, must be the subject of <strong>explicit information on their labelling.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A list of products whose recipe has been modified and which benefit from a temporary labelling derogation is already available:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/data.economie.gouv.fr\/explore\/dataset\/demarches-simplifiees-etikraine\/table\/?disjunctive.categorie_du_produit_rayon&amp;disjunctive.denomination_du_produit&amp;disjunctive.marque&amp;sort=datedepot\">Full list of products that have obtained a temporary derogation.<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.economie.gouv.fr\/dgccrf\/rechercher-produit-recette-temporairement-modifiee\">Search for products by name, brand, or EAN code.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please note that your Phytocontrol laboratory offers the detection of allergenic substances, the identification and quantification of numerous GMOs, as well as the analysis of nutritional values in various food products, under COFRAC accreditation.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can consult our COFRAC technical annex No. 1-1904, available in your customer area or on the COFRAC website.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Need technical, regulatory or pricing information?
