{"id":544482,"date":"2026-08-27T01:24:52","date_gmt":"2026-08-26T23:24:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/uncategorized\/eu-pesticide-control-programme-2023-2024-and-2025\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T01:24:52","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T23:24:52","slug":"eu-pesticide-control-programme-2023-2024-and-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/en\/regulatory-watch\/eu-pesticide-control-programme-2023-2024-and-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"EU pesticide control programme 2023, 2024 and 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/FR\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX%3A32022R0741&amp;qid=1652715856579\"><strong>Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022\/741<\/strong><\/a> on a coordinated multiannual control programme of the Union for 2023, 2024 and 2025 to ensure compliance with maximum residue levels of pesticides in and on food of plant and animal origin and to assess consumer exposure to these residues has just been published.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This regulation will enter into force on <strong>1 January 2023<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thirty to forty foodstuffs make up the main components of the diet in the Union. Since pesticide uses change considerably over a three-year period, pesticides must be monitored in these foodstuffs over a series of three-year cycles so that consumer exposure and the application of European Union legislation can be assessed.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The control will cover 36 different foodstuffs for a total of 683 samples to be analysed per year.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The targeted matrices will be as follows:<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>For 2023<\/u><\/strong><strong>:<\/strong> oranges, pears, kiwis, cauliflowers, onions, carrots, potatoes, dried beans, rye, brown rice (husked rice), poultry fat and bovine liver.<br\/><strong><u>For 2024<\/u><\/strong><strong>:<\/strong> table grapes, bananas, grapefruit, aubergines, broccoli, melons, cultivated mushrooms, sweet peppers\/sweet peppers, wheat, virgin olive oil, bovine fat and hen eggs.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For 2025: apples, strawberries, peaches, wine (red or white), lettuces, headed cabbages, tomatoes, spinach, oats, barley, cow&#8217;s milk and pig fat.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Annex I part C of the regulation lists the 181 substances to be tested for by matrix. The following substances have been added: <strong>ethylene oxide<\/strong> and <strong>maleic hydrazide<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to the sampling programme set out in point 5 of Annex II of the regulation, each Member State will sample and analyse:<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>In 2023<\/u><\/strong><strong>:<\/strong> 5 samples of infant formula and 5 samples of follow-on formula.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>In 2024<\/u><\/strong>: 10 samples of processed cereal-based baby foods.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>In 2025<\/u><\/strong><strong>:<\/strong> 10 samples of baby food for infants and young children other than infant formula, follow-on formula and cereal-based baby foods.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please note that your Phytocontrol laboratory is able to test for all the active substances included in this 2023, 2024 and 2025 control programme!<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Need technical, regulatory or pricing information?
