{"id":544458,"date":"2026-08-27T01:24:22","date_gmt":"2026-08-26T23:24:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/uncategorized\/two-new-regulations-amending-mrls-in-the-eu\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T01:24:23","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T23:24:23","slug":"two-new-regulations-amending-mrls-in-the-eu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/en\/regulatory-watch\/two-new-regulations-amending-mrls-in-the-eu\/","title":{"rendered":"Two new regulations amending MRLs in the EU"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two new regulations amending MRLs have just been published in the OJEU.<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/FR\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX%3A32022R1264&amp;qid=1658498912531\"><strong>Regulation (EU) 2022\/1264<\/strong><\/a> amending the MRLs for <strong>fludioxonil<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An import tolerance request was submitted for sugar beet, on which fludioxonil is authorised in the USA, and for bananas, on which fludioxonil is authorised in Colombia, Guatemala and Honduras.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The MRLs for fludioxonil have therefore been raised for these two matrices:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><u>Bananas<\/u><\/strong>: MRLs increased from 0.01 mg\/kg to <strong>2 mg\/kg<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><u>Sugar beet<\/u><\/strong>: MRLs increased from 0.01 mg\/kg to <strong>4 mg\/kg<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They will apply from <strong>10 August 2022<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/FR\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX%3A32022R1290&amp;qid=1658735883558\"><strong>Regulation (EU) 2022\/1290<\/strong><\/a> amending the MRLs for <strong>ametoctradin, chlormequat, dodine, nicotine and profenofos<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MRLs have been raised for two active substances:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><u>Ametoctradin<\/u><\/strong>: the MRL has been increased in honey to <strong>5 mg\/kg<\/strong> instead of 0.05 mg\/kg.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><u>Dodine<\/u><\/strong>: MRLs have been increased in citrus fruit to <strong>1.5 mg\/kg<\/strong> instead of 0.01 mg\/kg.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These MRLs will apply from <strong>14 August 2022<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This regulation also extends provisional MRLs set in previous regulations:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Chlormequat<\/strong>:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The validity of the provisional MRLs set at <strong>6 mg\/kg<\/strong> for <strong>oyster mushrooms<\/strong> (Regulation 2019\/1561) and at <strong>0.9 mg\/kg<\/strong> for <strong>cultivated mushrooms<\/strong> (Regulation 2017\/693) is extended until <strong>25 July 2023<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These MRLs were set because monitoring data showed that residues were present on untreated cultivated mushrooms at levels above the limit of determination, due to cross-contamination of cultivated mushrooms by straw legally treated with chlormequat.<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The validity of the provisional MRL set at <strong>0.07 mg\/kg<\/strong> for <strong>pears<\/strong> (Regulation 2017\/693) is extended until <strong>25 July 2029<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This MRL was set because monitoring data showed persistence of this substance in trees following previous applications.<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Nicotine<\/strong>: The validity of the provisional MRLs set at <strong>1.2<\/strong> and <strong>2.3 mg\/kg<\/strong> for <strong>wild mushrooms (dried porcini and other dried wild mushrooms)<\/strong> (Regulation 2017\/978) is extended until <strong>25 July 2029<\/strong>. There is no conclusive scientific evidence demonstrating the natural presence of nicotine in the products concerned and clarifying its formation mechanism.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Profenofos<\/strong>: The validity of the provisional MRL set at <strong>0.1 mg\/kg<\/strong> for <strong>rose petals<\/strong> (Regulation 2017\/978) is extended until <strong>25 July 2029<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can find all changes to these MRLs in the <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/food\/plant\/pesticides\/eu-pesticides-database\/mrls\/index.cfm?event=search.pr&amp;v=1&amp;langFromHeader=FR&amp;token=E4EC230F64AFDC65A630221D162EFCDEC6C3A9D1\">EU pesticides database<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your Phytocontrol laboratory offers pesticide residue analysis under COFRAC accreditation.
