{"id":544448,"date":"2026-08-27T01:24:10","date_gmt":"2026-08-26T23:24:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/uncategorized\/revision-of-the-watch-list-of-substances-to-be-monitored-under-water-policy\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T01:24:10","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T23:24:10","slug":"revision-of-the-watch-list-of-substances-to-be-monitored-under-water-policy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/en\/regulatory-watch\/revision-of-the-watch-list-of-substances-to-be-monitored-under-water-policy\/","title":{"rendered":"Revision of the watch list of substances to be monitored under water policy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/FR\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX:32022D1307\">Implementing Decision (EU) 2022\/1307<\/a> establishing a watch list of substances for Union-wide monitoring in the field of water policy pursuant to Directive 2008\/105\/EC has just been published in the Official Journal.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first watch list was established in Implementing Decision (EU) 2015\/495 and contained ten substances, along with an indication of the matrix to be monitored, possible analytical methods and the maximum detection limit for each method. Since then, this list has been updated every two years.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2021, the Commission collected data on a series of other substances that could be included on the watch list.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Below are the substances included in this new list:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Azoxystrobin (Fungicide)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Diflufenican (Herbicide)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fipronil (Insecticide and veterinary medicinal product)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clindamycin and ofloxacin (Antibiotics)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Metformin and its metabolite guanylurea (medicinal product for human use)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane (=avobenzone), octocrylene and 3-benzophenone (=oxybenzone) (sun protection agents)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Commission has specified the possible methods for analysing the proposed substances.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please note that Phytocontrol holds the national approval from the Ministry of Health and the Environment for carrying out sampling and analyses as part of water sanitary control.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You will find details of our accreditations in our COFRAC technical annex No. 1-6066.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Need technical, regulatory or pricing information?
