{"id":544360,"date":"2026-08-27T00:59:58","date_gmt":"2026-08-26T22:59:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/uncategorized\/eu-pesticide-control-programme-2024-2025-and-2026\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T00:59:59","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T22:59:59","slug":"eu-pesticide-control-programme-2024-2025-and-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/en\/regulatory-watch\/eu-pesticide-control-programme-2024-2025-and-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"EU pesticide control programme 2024, 2025 and 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/FR\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX%3A32023R0731&amp;qid=1680597005160\"><strong>Implementing regulation (EU) 2023\/731<\/strong><\/a> concerning a coordinated multiannual control programme of the Union for 2024, 2025 and 2026, designed to ensure compliance with maximum residue levels of pesticides in and on food of plant and animal origin and to assess consumer exposure to these residues, has just been published.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This regulation will enter into force on <strong>1 January 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thirty to forty foodstuffs make up the main components of the diet in the Union. Since pesticide uses change considerably over a three-year period, pesticides must be monitored in these foodstuffs over a series of three-year cycles so that consumer exposure and the application of EU legislation can be assessed.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The control will cover 36 different foodstuffs for a total of 683 samples to be analysed per year.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The targeted matrices will be as follows:<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>In 2024<\/u><\/strong><strong>:<\/strong> table grapes, bananas, grapefruits, aubergines, broccoli, melons, cultivated mushrooms, sweet peppers\/sweet chillies, wheat, virgin olive oil, bovine fat and hen eggs.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2025: apples, strawberries, peaches, wine (red or white), lettuce, headed cabbage, tomatoes, spinach, oats, barley, cow&#8217;s milk and pig fat.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2026: oranges, pears, kiwis, cauliflowers, onions, carrots, potatoes, beans (dried), rye grain, brown rice (husked rice), poultry fat and bovine liver.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Annex I part C of the regulation lists the <strong>195 molecules<\/strong> to be searched for in foodstuffs <strong>of plant origin<\/strong>. The following molecules have been added: clopyralid, copper, flupyradifurone, nicotine, triflumizole and zoxamide.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Annex I part D of the regulation lists the <strong>29 molecules<\/strong> to be searched for in foodstuffs <strong>of animal origin<\/strong>. The following molecules have been added: chlormequat, mepiquat and copper.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to the sampling programme set out in point 5 of Annex II of the regulation, each Member State will sample and analyse:<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>In 2024<\/u><\/strong><strong>:<\/strong> 10 samples of processed cereal-based baby food.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>In 2025<\/u><\/strong>: 10 samples of baby food intended for infants and young children other than infant formula, follow-on formula and processed cereal-based baby food.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>In 2026<\/u><\/strong><strong>:<\/strong> 5 samples of infant formula and 5 samples of follow-on formula.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please note that your Phytocontrol laboratory is able to search for all active substances included in this 2024, 2025 and 2026 control programme!<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Need technical, regulatory or pricing information?
