It relies on the following infrastructure:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>32,800 catchments<\/strong> (underground or surface sources)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>17,200 drinking water production plants<\/strong>, which treat raw water to eliminate biological and chemical risks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>23,750 distribution networks<\/strong> to bring water to consumers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tap water is rigorously monitored through:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Internal monitoring<\/strong> by water managers (local authorities or private operators).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An <strong>independent sanitary control<\/strong> carried out by the regional health agencies (ARS).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Quality is assessed through the analysis of around sixty parameters, which must comply with regulatory quality limits and references.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2023, more than <strong>324,850 samples<\/strong> were taken.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>Microbiological quality<\/u><\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">98.4% of the population was supplied with water permanently complying with the quality limits set by regulations for microbiological parameters.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sante.gouv.fr\/IMG\/pdf\/bilan_qualite_pesticides_2023.pdf\"><strong>Quality with regard to pesticides and metabolites:<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">74.7% of the population was permanently supplied with water complying with regulatory quality limits for pesticides and metabolites. For almost all of the population supplied with non-compliant water, exceedances of quality limits did not require any restriction on the use of tap water.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2023, three molecules were responsible for exceedances of the quality limit: the R471811 metabolite of chlorothalonil, and the metabolites of chloridazon (desphenyl chloridazon and methyl-desphenyl chloridazon). Regarding the R471811 metabolite of chlorothalonil, note that following a new ANSES assessment in April 2024, this metabolite is no longer considered relevant.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sante.gouv.fr\/IMG\/pdf\/bilan_qualite_nitrates_2023.pdf\"><strong>Water quality with regard to nitrates<\/strong><\/a><strong><u>:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">99.5% of the population was supplied with water whose quality permanently complied with the regulatory quality limit of 50 mg\/L for nitrates.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please note that Phytocontrol holds national approval from the Ministry of Health and the Environment to carry out sampling and analyses for the sanitary control of water.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You will find details of our accreditations in our COFRAC technical annex No. 1-6066.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Need technical, regulatory or pricing information?
