{"id":544150,"date":"2026-08-27T00:14:20","date_gmt":"2026-08-26T22:14:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/uncategorized\/use-of-water-unfit-for-consumption-for-domestic-purposes-in-icpes\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T00:14:20","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T22:14:20","slug":"use-of-water-unfit-for-consumption-for-domestic-purposes-in-icpes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/en\/regulatory-watch\/use-of-water-unfit-for-consumption-for-domestic-purposes-in-icpes\/","title":{"rendered":"Use of water unfit for consumption for domestic purposes in ICPEs"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.phytocontrol.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Decret-2025-239-eaux-impropres-a-la-conso-usage-domestiques-ICPE.pdf\">Decree No. 2025-239 of 14 March 2025<\/a> authorises the use of water unfit for human consumption for certain domestic purposes within installations classified for environmental protection (ICPE) and basic nuclear installations (INB), as a replacement for drinking water, provided that the quality of this water does not affect the health of users.\u200b <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The domestic uses concerned include: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>washing laundry\u200b <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>cleaning indoor floors\u200b <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>disposal of excreta\u200b <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>feeding decorative fountains\u200b <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>cleaning outdoor surfaces\u200b <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>watering vegetable gardens and green spaces\u200b <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The corresponding <a href=\"https:\/\/www.phytocontrol.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Arrete-14-03-25-eaux-impropres-a-la-conso-usage-domestiques-ICPE.pdf\">order of 14 March 2025<\/a> regulates the use of water unfit for human consumption for specific domestic purposes within installations classified for environmental protection (ICPE). It sets out the quality criteria and technical conditions to be met to ensure health and environmental safety. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The possible domestic uses depending on the types of water unfit for human consumption are defined in Appendix I, which sets out the associated quality criteria to be met. The quality criteria associated with quality levels A+ and A are defined in Appendix II. They cover the following parameters: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Escherichia coli <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Intestinal enterococci <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Legionella pneumophila <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Turbidity <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Total Organic Carbon <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>pH <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please note that Phytocontrol holds the national approval of the Ministry of Health and the Environment for carrying out sampling and analyses for water sanitary control. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can find details of our accreditations in our COFRAC technical appendix No. 1-6066. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Need technical, regulatory or pricing information?
