{"id":544026,"date":"2026-08-26T23:50:37","date_gmt":"2026-08-26T21:50:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/uncategorized\/mrl-changes-regulations-2026-140-and-2026-147\/"},"modified":"2026-08-26T23:50:37","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T21:50:37","slug":"mrl-changes-regulations-2026-140-and-2026-147","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/en\/regulatory-watch\/mrl-changes-regulations-2026-140-and-2026-147\/","title":{"rendered":"MRL changes: regulations 2026\/140 and 2026\/147"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two new regulations amending regulation EC 396\/2005 have just been published: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Regulation EU 2026\/140 amending the MRLs of acequinocyl, chlormequat, metalaxyl-M, pyraclostrobin, sulfoxaflor and trifloxystrobin in certain products.<\/strong> <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Acequinocyl:<strong> <\/strong>increase of the MRL on strawberries (from 0.01 mg\/kg to 0.3 mg\/kg). <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chlormequat: increase of the MRL on oats (from 15 mg\/kg to 30 mg\/kg). <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Metalaxyl-M: increase of the MRL on honey (from 0.05 mg\/kg to 0.1 mg\/kg). <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pyraclostrobin: increase of the MRL on sweetcorn (from 0.04 mg\/kg to 0.09 mg\/kg). <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sulfoxaflor: increase of the MRLs on okra (from 0.01 mg\/kg to 0.07 mg\/kg) and leaf vegetables and herbs\/edible flowers, except lettuces, spinach, vine leaves, chicory\/witloof and celery leaves (from 0.01 or 0.02 to 0.7 mg\/kg). <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Trifloxystrobin: increase of the MRL on table olives (from 0.3 mg\/kg to 0.5 mg\/kg), celeries (from 1 mg\/kg to 15 mg\/kg), artichokes (from 0.3 mg\/kg to 0.5 mg\/kg), leeks (from 0.7 mg\/kg to 0.9 mg\/kg), linseed (from 0.01 mg\/kg to 0.4 mg\/kg), olives for oil production (from 0.3 mg\/kg to 0.5 mg\/kg), herbal infusions from flowers and leaves\/other aerial parts (from 0.05 mg\/kg to 30 mg\/kg), spices from seeds (from 0.05 mg\/kg to 50 mg\/kg). <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The increase of the MRL on linseed for trifloxystrobin follows an import tolerance request based on the use of this substance in Canada on this matrix. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The regulation will apply from <strong>12\/02\/2026<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Regulation EU 2026\/147 amending the MRLs of benfluralin, benthiavalicarb and penflufen in certain products.<\/strong> <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Benfluralin has no longer been authorised in the EU since 12\/02\/2023 under regulation EU 2023\/149. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The MRLs applicable to this active substance have been lowered to the specific limits of determination for each matrix: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>0.05 mg\/kg on teas, coffee beans, herbal infusions, cocoa beans, carobs, hops, spices and honey. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>0.02 mg\/kg on herbs and edible flowers. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>0.01 mg\/kg on other matrices. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Benthiavalicarb has no longer been authorised in the EU since 12\/12\/2023 under regulation EU 2023\/2657. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The MRLs applicable to this active substance have been lowered to the specific limits of determination for each matrix: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>0.05 mg\/kg on teas, coffee beans, herbal infusions, cocoa beans, carobs, hops, spices and honey. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>0.02 mg\/kg on herbs and edible flowers. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>0.01 mg\/kg on other matrices. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The residue definition is also amended: <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td><strong>Old residue definition<\/strong> <\/td><td><strong>New residue definition<\/strong> <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Benthiavalicarb (Benthiavalicarb-isopropyl(KIF-230 R-L) and its enantiomer (KIF-230 S-D) and its diastereomers(KIF-230 S-L and KIF-230 R-D), expressed as benthiavalicarb-isopropyl) <\/td><td>Sum of benthiavalicarb-isopropyl (KIF-230 R-L) and its RS enantiomer (KIF-230 S-D) <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Penflufen has no longer been authorised in the EU since 31\/01\/2024. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The MRLs applicable to this active substance are already set at the specific limits of determination for each matrix and are listed in Annex II. They are now transposed into Annex V. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The regulation will apply from <strong>12\/08\/2026<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Article 2 of this regulation states that the old MRLs will continue to apply to products placed on the EU market before 12\/08\/26. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your Phytocontrol laboratory offers pesticide analysis under COFRAC accreditation.
