{"id":32827,"date":"2024-04-04T16:35:46","date_gmt":"2024-04-04T14:35:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.phytocontrol.com\/?p=32827"},"modified":"2026-08-27T23:57:25","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T21:57:25","slug":"eu-pesticides-control-programme-2025-2026-and-2027","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/en\/regulatory-watch\/eu-pesticides-control-programme-2025-2026-and-2027\/","title":{"rendered":"EU pesticide control programme 2025, 2026 and 2027"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/FR\/TXT\/?uri=OJ%3AL_202400989&amp;qid=1712129616874\"><strong>Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024\/989<\/strong><\/a> concerning a multiannual coordinated control programme of the Union for 2025, 2026 and 2027 to ensure compliance with maximum residue levels of pesticides in and on food of plant and animal origin and to assess consumer exposure to these residues has just been published.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This regulation will enter into force on <strong>1 January 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thirty to forty foodstuffs make up the main components of the diet in the Union. Since pesticide use patterns change considerably over a three-year period, pesticides must be monitored in these foodstuffs over a series of three-year cycles in order to assess consumer exposure and the enforcement of European Union legislation.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Monitoring will cover 32 different foodstuffs, for a total of 683 samples to be analysed per year.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The targeted matrices will be as follows:<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For 2025: apples, strawberries, peaches, wine (red or white), lettuce, headed cabbage, tomatoes, spinach, oats, barley, cow&#8217;s milk and pig fat.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For 2026: oranges, pears, kiwis, cauliflowers, onions, carrots, potatoes, beans (dried), rye grains, brown rice (husked rice), poultry fat and cattle liver.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For 2027: table grapes, bananas, grapefruits, aubergines, broccoli, melons, cultivated mushrooms, sweet peppers, wheat, virgin olive oil, cattle fat and hen eggs.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Annex I part C of the regulation contains the list of <strong>196 substances<\/strong> to be tested for in <strong>plant-based<\/strong> foodstuffs. Cyflumetofen has been added.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Annex I part D of the regulation contains the list of <strong>29 substances<\/strong> to be tested for in <strong>animal-based<\/strong> foodstuffs.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to the sampling programme set out in point 1 of Annex II of the regulation, each Member State will sample and analyse:<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>In 2025<\/u><\/strong>: 10 samples of baby food intended for infants and young children other than infant formula, follow-on formula and cereal-based baby food.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>In 2026<\/u><\/strong><strong>: <\/strong>5 samples of infant formula and 5 samples of follow-on formula.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>In 2027<\/u><\/strong><strong>:<\/strong> 10 samples of processed cereal-based baby food.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your Phytocontrol laboratory is able to test for all the active substances included in this 2025, 2026 and 2027 control programme!<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Need technical, regulatory or pricing information?
