{"id":30209,"date":"2023-09-13T09:37:27","date_gmt":"2023-09-13T07:37:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.phytocontrol.com\/?p=30209"},"modified":"2026-08-27T23:57:58","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T21:57:58","slug":"changes-to-mrls-regulations-2023-1719-and-2023-1753","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/en\/regulatory-watch\/changes-to-mrls-regulations-2023-1719-and-2023-1753\/","title":{"rendered":"MRL amendments \u2013 Regulations 2023\/1719 and 2023\/1753"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two new regulations amending MRLs have just been published by the European Commission:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/FR\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX%3A32023R1719&amp;qid=1694445561172\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Regulation EU 2023\/1719<\/strong><\/a> amends the MRLs for the following residues: <strong>isoxaben, metaldehyde, paclobutrazol<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The MRL for <strong>isoxaben<\/strong> has been set at <strong>0.05 mg\/kg<\/strong> for gherkins.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The MRLs for <strong>metaldehyde<\/strong> on cabbages (head development) increase from 0.4 mg\/kg to <strong>0.7 mg\/kg<\/strong>. Those on leafy cabbages increase from 0.4 mg\/kg to <strong>6 mg\/kg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additional data confirmed that the current MRLs for <strong>paclobutrazol<\/strong> on pome fruit (apples, pears, quinces, medlars, loquats), apricots and peaches were appropriate. They have not been changed.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The regulation applies from <strong>27 September 2023<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/FR\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX%3A32023R1753&amp;qid=1694507705648\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Regulation EU 2023\/1753<\/strong><\/a> amends the MRLs for <strong>pyriproxyfen.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The MRLs for citrus fruit increase from 0.6 mg\/kg to <strong>0.7 mg\/kg.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The MRL for cherries increases from 1 to <strong>1.5 mg\/kg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The MRL for kumquats increases from 0.05 mg\/kg to <strong>0.5 mg\/kg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The MRLs for apples decrease from 0.2 mg\/kg to <strong>0.05 mg\/kg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The MRLs for tomatoes decrease from 1 to <strong>0.7 mg\/kg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The MRLs for sweet peppers\/sweet chillies and aubergines decrease from 1 to <strong>0.6 mg\/kg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The MRLs for cucurbits with edible peel decrease to <strong>0.04 mg\/kg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The MRL for watermelon decreases from 0.05 mg\/kg to <strong>0.02 mg\/kg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The limit of determination for tree nuts, pome fruit (except apples), berries and small fruits (except strawberries), miscellaneous fruits with edible peel (except kumquats), with inedible peel and small size, with inedible peel and large size (except bananas, mangoes and papayas), root vegetables, tuber vegetables, bulb vegetables, pumpkins, sweetcorn, brassicas, leafy vegetables, legume vegetables, stem vegetables, fungi, mosses and lichens, dried legumes, oilseeds (except cottonseeds), oleaginous fruits, cereals, sugar plants and products of animal origin decreases to <strong>0.01 mg\/kg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The limit of determination for herbs and edible flowers and mangoes decreases to <strong>0.02 mg\/kg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Article 2 of this regulation specifies that the previous MRLs will continue to apply to products obtained or imported into the EU before 2 April 2024.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This regulation applies from <strong>2 April 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your Phytocontrol laboratory offers pesticide residue analysis under COFRAC accreditation.
