{"id":18520,"date":"2020-07-28T10:05:03","date_gmt":"2020-07-28T08:05:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.phytocontrol.com\/?p=18520"},"modified":"2026-09-19T22:10:55","modified_gmt":"2026-09-19T20:10:55","slug":"publication-of-regulation-eu-n2020-1085-concerning-mrls-chlorpyrifos-and-chlorpyrifos-methyl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/en\/regulatory-watch\/publication-of-regulation-eu-n2020-1085-concerning-mrls-chlorpyrifos-and-chlorpyrifos-methyl\/","title":{"rendered":"Publication of Regulation (EU) No. 2020\/1085 concerning Chlorpyrifos and Chlorpyrifos-methyl MRLs"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/FR\/TXT\/PDF\/?uri=CELEX:32020R1085&amp;qid=1595578558300&amp;from=FR\" target=\"blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Regulation (EU) 2020\/1085<\/strong><\/a> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/FR\/TXT\/PDF\/?uri=CELEX:32020R1085R(01)&amp;qid=1596120012157&amp;from=FR\" target=\"blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">its corrigendum<\/a> <\/strong>concerning the maximum residue levels applicable to Chlorpyrifos and Chlorpyrifos-methyl has just been published in the OJEU.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.phytocontrol.com\/veille-reglementaire\/non-renouvellement-de-lapprobation-du-chlorpyrifos-du-chlorpyrifos-methyl-et-du-thioclapride\/\" target=\"blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reminder<\/a>, Regulations (EU) 2020\/17 and 2020\/18 confirmed the non-renewal of approval for these two active substances, with a grace period set at 16 April 2020.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Indeed, the EFSA had confirmed the neurotoxic properties of these substances and could not rule out a potential genotoxic risk to consumers.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The text sets an MRL of 0.01 mg\/kg for all foodstuffs falling within the scope of Annex I of Regulation (EU) 396\/2005.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These new MRLs will come into force from <strong>13 November 2020<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please note that our laboratory carries out analysis of Chlorpyrifos and Chlorpyrifos-methyl on products of plant and animal origin under COFRAC accreditation (Scope No. 1-1904 available on the COFRAC website).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> Need technical, regulatory or pricing information?
