The European Commission has just published a database of market authorisations for phytosanitary emergency situations: https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/food\/plant\/pesticides\/eu-pesticides-database\/ppp\/pppeas\/screen\/home<\/a><\/p>\n\n

Searches can be carried out by keyword, country, active substance, authorised use or period of validity. The notifications submitted by the requesting Member State are available there, as well as the history of previous authorisations that are no longer in force.<\/p>\n\n

As a reminder, under Article 53 of Regulation (EC) No 1107\/2009: \u201cIn special circumstances, a Member State may authorise, for a period not exceeding 120 days, the placing on the market of plant protection products for limited and controlled use, where such a measure appears necessary because of a danger which cannot be contained by any other reasonable means.<\/em><\/p>\n\n

The Member State concerned shall immediately inform the other Member States and the Commission of the measure taken, providing detailed information about the situation and any steps taken to ensure consumer safety.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n

Where the use of these emergency exemptions would result in pesticide residues exceeding the existing MRL, in accordance with Article 18(4) of Regulation (EC) No 396\/2005, the market authorisations should be notified immediately to the other Member States, the European Commission and EFSA, together with an appropriate risk assessment with a view to setting a temporary MRL for a given period or adopting any other necessary measure concerning these products.<\/p>\n\n

In France, you can find market authorisations of a maximum duration of 120 days for phytosanitary emergency situations on the website of the Ministry of Agriculture: https:\/\/agriculture.gouv.fr\/produits-phytopharmaceutiques-autorisations-de-mise-sur-le-marche-dune-duree-maximale-de-120-jours<\/a><\/p>\n\n
