{"id":14489,"date":"2020-01-27T09:46:55","date_gmt":"2020-01-27T08:46:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/exgdete.cluster028.hosting.ovh.net\/?p=14489"},"modified":"2026-08-28T00:49:30","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T22:49:30","slug":"ban-on-5-neonicotinoids-in-france-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/en\/regulatory-watch\/ban-on-5-neonicotinoids-in-france-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Ban on neonicotinoids in France"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In development for many months, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legifrance.gouv.fr\/eli\/decret\/2018\/7\/30\/TREP1705062D\/jo\/texte\">Decree No. 2018-675<\/a> of 30 July 2018 concerning the definition of active substances in the neonicotinoid family present in plant protection products has been published.<br\/>This text is aimed at manufacturers of plant protection active substances, and producers and users of plant protection products and seeds treated with such products.<br\/>Five neonicotinoid substances are banned:<br\/>&#8211; Acetamiprid<br\/>&#8211; Clothianidin<br\/>&#8211; Imidacloprid<br\/>&#8211; Thiacloprid<br\/>&#8211; Thiamethoxam<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legifrance.gouv.fr\/jo_pdf.do?id=JORFTEXT000039698538\">decree no. 2019-1519<\/a> was published on 31 December 2019.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It identifies 2 substances with modes of action identical to those of the neonicotinoid family and covered by the ban on the use of plant protection products containing them and seeds treated with these products, as provided for in Article L. 253-8, II of the Rural and Maritime Fishing Code:<br\/>&#8211; Flupyradifurone<br\/>&#8211; Sulfoxaflor<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legifrance.gouv.fr\/eli\/loi\/2016\/8\/8\/DEVL1400720L\/jo\">2016 biodiversity law<\/a>: &#8220;The use of plant protection products containing one or more active substances from the neonicotinoid family and seeds treated with these products is prohibited from 1 September 2018.&#8221;<br\/>Since 1 September 2018, the use of plant protection products containing one of these substances has been prohibited for uses not covered by a ministerial exemption, in accordance with Article L. 253-8 of the Rural and Maritime Fishing Code.<br\/>Exemptions to the ban may be granted until 1 July 2020.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.legifrance.gouv.fr\/eli\/arrete\/2019\/5\/7\/AGRG1912240A\/jo\/texte\">The order of 7 May 2019<\/a> granting an exemption to the ban on the use of plant protection products containing acetamiprid was published in the Official Journal on 15 May.<br\/>The use of plant protection products based on <strong>acetamiprid<\/strong> with a valid marketing authorisation for the use in question is authorised until 1 July 2020 for the following uses:<br\/>\u2013 control of the hazelnut weevil (curculio nucum), corresponding to use no. 12253101 &#8220;<strong>Tree nuts<\/strong>*Aerial Part Trt*weevil&#8221;;<br\/>\u2013 control of fig flies, corresponding to use no. 12303104 &#8220;<strong>Fig tree<\/strong>*Aerial Part Trt*fruit flies&#8221;;<br\/>\u2013 control of turnip aphids, corresponding to use no. 16773105 &#8220;<strong>Turnip<\/strong>*Aerial Part Trt*aphids&#8221;.<br\/>The order specifies that the use of products during the flowering period of the treated crop is prohibited.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please note that your Phytocontrol laboratory is able to analyse some of these substances under COFRAC accreditation; you can consult our COFRAC technical appendix No. 1-1904 available in your customer area or on the COFRAC website.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For any technical, pricing and\/or regulatory information, please contact us.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In development for many months, Decree No. 2018-675 of 30 July 2018 concerning the definition&hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":12840,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[181],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-14489","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-regulatory-watch"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v28.4 (Yoast SEO v28.5) -
