{"id":14456,"date":"2020-01-09T10:49:00","date_gmt":"2020-01-09T09:49:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/exgdete.cluster028.hosting.ovh.net\/?p=14456"},"modified":"2026-09-19T22:23:04","modified_gmt":"2026-09-19T20:23:04","slug":"anses-report-on-the-establishment-of-an-adapted-monitoring-programme-for-water-for-human-consumption-in-the-hauts-de-france-region","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.phytocontrol.com\/en\/regulatory-watch\/anses-report-on-the-establishment-of-an-adapted-monitoring-programme-for-water-for-human-consumption-in-the-hauts-de-france-region\/","title":{"rendered":"ANSES opinion on establishing an adapted drinking water monitoring programme in Hauts-de-France"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On 18 December 2019, ANSES published an opinion concerning the assessment, outside risk assessment, of the establishment of an adapted monitoring programme for water intended for human consumption in Hauts-de-France following the Lubrizol plant fire.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The purpose of this opinion is to assess the sampling and analysis strategy implemented by the Hauts-de-France Regional Health Agency (ARS) and to propose recommendations based on drinking water analysis results available as of 26 November 2019 and discussions with the various stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Regarding the programme implemented by the ARS, ANSES recommends:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Maintaining the search for metals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintaining PAH analysis, as although their sources are multiple, they are markers of combustion phenomena common to all environmental compartments monitored: air and soil. The list of molecules searched for should be supplemented to include PAH transformation products, namely methylated forms.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Not limiting the search to benzene for VOCs. A search for a wider panel via screening should be implemented.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No longer measuring the hydrocarbon index.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Continuing to monitor the following parameters: pH, conductivity, turbidity, TOC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Not analysing PCBs, dioxins and furans, and perfluorinated compounds as part of the enhanced drinking water monitoring programme in Hauts-de-France<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These recommendations apply to surface water intakes and groundwater catchments.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ANSES proposes adapting sampling frequencies and durations according to the vulnerability of the catchments. Three groups of catchments should be distinguished (see Appendix 2 of the opinion) based on the karstic nature, the thickness of the unsaturated zone, the potential infiltration of surface water, and the nature and thickness of surface formations.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It recommends that this monitoring be carried out until the end of the hydrological year (September 2020) so that the entire annual groundwater recharge is monitored.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In general, as part of environmental and health monitoring, it is recommended to carry out non-targeted screening analyses in order to obtain spectral fingerprints (uninterpreted).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, the GECU emphasises the importance of data sharing between the various stakeholders involved, namely the ARS, the Water Agencies and the analytical laboratories.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please note that Phytocontrol holds national approval from the Ministry of Health for carrying out sampling and analyses for water health control.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our laboratory is also approved by the ministry responsible for the environment for analyses in the field of water and aquatic environments under the Environmental Code.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You will find details of our accreditations in our COFRAC technical appendix No. 1-6066.<br\/>For any information, please contact us.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 18 December 2019, ANSES published an opinion concerning the assessment, outside risk assessment, of&hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":14374,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[181],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-14456","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-regulatory-watch"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v28.4 (Yoast SEO v28.5) -
