Mycotoxins are toxic compounds naturally produced by certain moulds, particularly species of the genera Aspergillus<\/em>, Fusarium<\/em> and Penicillium<\/em>. They can contaminate agricultural raw materials both in the field and during the storage and processing stages of foodstuffs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to their potentially harmful effects on human and animal health, mycotoxins are subject to strict regulatory monitoring. Chronic or acute exposure to these contaminants can lead to various health effects, such as impaired immune function, liver and kidney disorders, and even an increased risk of certain cancers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To ensure consumer safety and product compliance, mycotoxin levels must comply with the maximum limits set by European regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drawing on its analytical expertise, Phytocontrol has developed high-performance methods dedicated to the detection and quantification of major mycotoxins. Our laboratories use optimised extraction protocols combined with ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS\/MS), enabling the simultaneous analysis of numerous mycotoxins with a high level of sensitivity and reliability.<\/p>\n\n\n
